Tenant history
The corner jeweller
O.B. Allan Jewellers held the southeast corner from opening day until the 1980s — nearly seventy years of engagement rings bought under the same lions.
Street memory
Lunch below the sidewalk
Sorensen’s Cafeteria fed the building from the basement; its sign is right there in the 1913 photograph, over the marble stairs that still lead down today.

The historian upstairs
In the 1990s, Chuck Davis — the great chronicler of Vancouver — kept an office in the building whose history he helped record.
Conservation
The neon tailor
Dunn’s Tailors traded here from 1995 to 2020 under an Art Deco neon sign made in 1946.
